PSHE & Citizenship

Through taking part in a wide range of activities and experiences, we aim to give children the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy and independent lives in order to become informed, active and responsible citizens. Our school’s newly revised PSHE and Citizenship curriculum is split into the three main strands of Health and Wellbeing, Living in the Wider World and Relationships. In addition to this, opportunities for children to develop their understanding of how they learn are carefully embedded across the curriculum, by encouraging all pupils to assess their own learning against the following five Learning to Learn skills: resilience, reflection, relationships, resourcefulness and risk-taking. Ultimately, we want children to recognise their own worth as well as recognise the contributions of others.
