September New Admissions

New parents/carers of Nursery and Reception children,

Thank you for your acceptance of a place for your child at Harwood Meadows CP School.  We very much welcome you to our school and look forward to working together.

I hope the documents below will give you all the information you require. However, if you still have some unanswered questions please do not hesitate to contact us at school. We will be only too willing to help.

Harwood Meadows is a lively happy school and I am sure your child will enjoy and prosper during their early years in our care.

Yours sincerely,

Julian Bevan

Head Teacher

Please see our uniform page for details of where you can buy our school uniform.  School will provide a water bottle and a book bag for each child in Reception Class.

School Meals and Snacks

Bolton council provide our school meals.  Please have a look at our School Meals Page for more information and the current menu.  As of September 2014, the government have funded meals for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, known as Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM).  Therefore, the cost to parents of children in these classes is free.  If you require further information about school meals, please contact the school office.  Alternatively, if you choose for your child not to have a cooked school lunch, you may send a packed lunch in a clearly named bag/lunch box each day.

The pdf below has been produced by the Children's Food Trust and is a practical guide for parents and carers on creating a healthy packed lunch for early years children.

We have snack time as part of the morning and afternoon Nursery session and in the afternoon in Reception.  The children wash their hands and sit in a circle on the carpet.  This provides opportunities for the development of social skills and speaking and listening are very apparent.  Daily free milk and free fruit are also provided for every child.  The children bake every week and this is used for snacks. £1.00 per week is required for snacks, which is used to buy ingredients for baking and a variety of food items.

The total cost for snacks for the academic year 2022/23 is £38 per child.

We would ask that this is paid in full by 7th September 2022 or in three termly payments of:

£14.00 by 7th September 22

£11.00 by 6th January 23

£13.00 by 20th April 23

Payments should be made by bank transfer into the following account:

Bank                             Lloyds TSB

Branch                         Hotel Street, Bolton

Sort Code                    30-91-01

Account Number        15680460

Account Name            Harwood Meadows Community Primary School

Please ensure you use your child's name as a reference in order that we may trace the payment.
